MakanSharing Helps Raise Awareness for the Autistic Youth alongside The Autism Cafe Project and iM4U

About the MakanEvent
MakanSharing hosted a MakanEvent bringing together local cooks and foodies alike to support and raise awareness for the Autistic youth in Malaysia.

Over 150 people attended the first collaboration between MakanSharing, The Autism Cafe Project and iM4U on 9 October 2016 in support of the The Autism Cafe Project, which provides local support and awareness to autistic youths within Kuala Lumpur and the greater Kuala Lumpur area. The MakanEvent, which took place at iM4U Sentral in Puchong, was an all out food fair, information session and general delight as advocates and supporters of the cause came by the show support and raise awareness for the ever present needs of Autistic youth in Malaysia.

The MakanEvent helmed a range of home cooks in where foodies were able to purchase their meal with profits being channeled to The Autism Cafe Project. From traditional Nasi Lemak, Chicken and Mutton Briyani, to a special vegetarian Laksa Noodles to Ghee Rice with Dry Chicken Kurma, Greek Lamb Burgers and Pulled Chicken Sliders and gourmet Bruschetta and lasagna and even a MakanTruck, the food fair was definitely not one to have missed.

"The event attracted many people as far as Klang, Bangi, Sepang and Ampang. It was simply a great turnout", explains Adli of The Autism Cafe Project. "Volunteers from Taylor's University and our very own special volunteers were awesome bunch. I would guess we have created the first special youth volunteers in Malaysia!"

This was The Autism Cafe Project's first endeavour with MakanSharing.
