Chef Malcolm Goh managed to spare a few minutes off his busy schedule to share a few moments with us at MakanSharing:
When did you first realise that you wanted to be a cook?
Never wanted to be a cook. I was never the studying type. I took up cooking because I thought it was easy. After working with Chef Zubir, I realised that I wanted to be a cook.
When did you first start cooking?
When I held a knife and cooked my first dish in college, I was 16 then.
How do you feel when you cook?
Cooking professionally, I feel my mind is going 100 miles an hour with all the orders pouring in for the dinner rush. There's a lot of planning and organising during operations. On the other hand, cooking at home is more relaxing for me.
What drives your cooking and creations?
Keeping up-to-date with what other chefs are doing and learning new techniques drives my cooking and creations. I cook dishes according to my situation.
How would you describe yourself in less than 10 words as a Chef?
A quiet Chef!
